Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting CP, asserted that the Portuguese team lacks the funds to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo, even though doing so might be a “dream” move. The CP coach rules out Cristiano Ronaldo deal over wages at the end of all this.

After moving to Lisbon from his origins on the island of Madeira at the age of 12, Ronaldo began his illustrious successful growth there. At the age of 17, he received his first team debut. A year later, he acquired Manchester United, which launched him on the path to stardom.

But the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s idyllic reunion with his old side turned sour when he returned to Manchester in 2021. He requested to depart during the offseason and has lost the supervisor Erik ten Hag’s favor. He was even left out of the squad entirely for Saturday’s 1-1 draw over Chelsea as a “repercussion” for leaving the Tottenham match early.

Ronaldo has since resumed United’s training base, but 90min alleged on Monday that the player and club are ready to split ways between January, even if the precise exit route is still unknown. United doesn’t view merely releasing Ronaldo as a free agent as the best option due to the expense.

That although Sporting was looking at methods to do a transaction in late August, a number of European powerhouses, notably Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, withdrew from an application. At the time, 90min disclosed that giving Ronaldo a share of the club’s ownership was just one of their factors.

Commenting this week before Sporting’s Champions League match against Tottenham, Amorim now seems to have put an end to rumors of a reunion. And the question of money arises.

“Since many journalists have asked me the same query, I’ll respond in the same manner. Ronaldo is a Manchester United player, according to the Sporting coach who reportedly declined the position at Aston Villa.”

“Everyone at Sporting hopes Cristiano would return, but we cannot afford the funds to cover his salary. I believe he is content in Manchester, but the issue is that he isn’t participating.”
